2019 February 21, Grooming Report;
Today’s report is brought to you by the volunteers that make the great skiing and biking possible. You may be wondering why all trails are not open.
Check out what our volunteers are doing in the first picture and “after” picture is below. There will be a team of volunteers out again today. The Grooming report typically keeps (what the critic calls) drivel in the Way Too Long section or, if it is simply a waste of oxygen, in the Too Long to Read section. However, although not actually about grooming, we are leading with comments about what the groomers are doing this week. Take a look at the before and after pictures above. Bob sent in the “before picture” from the 20k mark. The “after” picture was submitted by Dave, one of the beneficiaries of the hard work. His suggested photo caption is “Excellent (actually magical) conditions today …on Chiwagi.”
The team is out again today fighting the good fight between 20k and 24k on the Noque’ and, hopefully, Bagwagi if things go well. It is a special type of person that can enjoy such work and we are fortunate to have such a team of volunteers and staff. Andy, along with such stalwarts as Ken, Bob, Jon and quite a few my addled brain fails to recall are such folks. So, if you do enjoy such activities, and have the special equipment needed, you too could join. I hesitate to even suggest because if you actually own a deep snow snowmobile and like this kind of thing you are probably already on the team. However, if you just happen to be passing through and are looking for something to do, please reply to this email or follow the contact us link on the web site or call the NTN office. Were I not already scheduled in a salt pit, I would be on the team. In any case, isn’t it great to have more snow today?
If you have not done so, please renew your membership. ALSO, there are K markers available. Your name and favorite picture can be here too.
New pictures from anyone will be appreciated. I really mean this. I agonize missing some Trail Builders.
