Trail Friends

NTN is only one piece of a bigger community of organizations working to improve trails and access to the outdoors in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Through partnerships and collaboration we are able to achieve greater impact than any organization could generate on its own. Below are a few of our friends that help make the central Upper Peninsula a great place to live and visit.

NORTHERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY

If  you are a current Northern Michigan University student, welcome! The NTN has a  partnership with NMU that provides you access to the trails and also the ability to check out XC skis, snowshoes, and fat bikes for free daily use at the NTN Forestville Trailhead. Snow bikes can also be checked out from the Fit Zone on NMU’s campus during the school year and from the OAC in the summer months. Get outside and play on the NTN Trails! More info here.

TRAVEL MARQUETTE

Ready for an adventure you won’t find anywhere else in the Midwest? From the Northern Lights to culinary delights, Marquette County has you covered. If you are coming to visit, head on over to Travel Marquette to plan your stay!

RANGE AREA MOUNTAIN BIKE ASSOCIATION

RAMBA maintains the trails on Marquette County's west end between Negaunee and Ishpeming. The group not only maintains awesome hand built singletrack, they also host regular Wednesday night group rides and Sunday morning church rides.

SUPERIORLAND SKI CLUB

The Superiorland Ski Club mission is to provide Marquette’s ski community a chance to work together for the betterment of trails and facilities and to provide and support youth and adult skiing in our area. The Superiorland Ski Club offers a number of youth and adult nordic programs during the winter months and hosts a ski swap in the fall and a bike swap in the summer.

START THE CYCLE

Start the Cycle is a cycling team program that introduces at-risk youth to a life full of success through winter fat tire and summer mountain biking. The volunteers and mentors provide the structure for participants to achieve goals and have a sense of belonging. The goal of the program is to complete the 906 Polar Roll Fat Tire Bike Race in February and the Ore 2 Shore Epic Mountain Bike Race in August.

906 Adventure Team

906 Adventure Team offers after-school mountain bike clubs, summertime Adventure Bike Club, family night rides, and a high school race team. Three annual events are hosted by 906 Adventure Team on portions of the NTN Trails including the Polar Roll, Crusher, and Marji Gesick.
