2019 February 3, Grooming Report;
Thank you Trail Builders:
Today’s report is brought to you by Patty Olson and Select Realty. Without nice folks like Patty Olson and Select Realty we would not have the great skiing we have come to expect. New pictures from anyone will be appreciated. I really mean this. I agonize missing some Trail Builders.
If you have not done so, please renew your membership. ALSO, there are K markers available. Your name and favorite picture can be here too.
Forestville Real Grooming Report: Karl cleaned up the skate lanes on the Noque to 19k at the Mead By Pass intersection as well as Animoosh. All other trails had light traffic and yesterday’s BOMBI GROOMING with classic tracks have held up well.

As always, your feedback is appreciated via reply to this email or to FB. Send in pictures and you too can get your K marker moved to the front of the line. See the Nordic skiing FB page https://www.facebook.com/NTNNordic/
Saux Head: Trails groomed weekly
All trails will be groomed and track set 2/2/19
Fit Strip: All trails groomed and tracked Sunday of this week but I have no first hand information on trail conditions. Please let me know.
Big Bay Pathway: Nick and Boe were able to groom the 3 trails 2/2/19. Meditation and Hidden Grin and Bear Mountain are fully groomed and in excellent condition. Yea!!!
Big thank you to Clare DePeu for problem solving the Skandic. It is running!
In addition we made grooming passes on the school connector but fear the drag will not fit in some of the narrow spots and will try again with the Tidd Tech.
Snow Bike Trails:
South Trails: South trails were well groomed for the weekend but yesterday’s and today’s warm weather will have changed the surface from that wonderful grippy snow to a more slick surface. On the up side, you can leave the hand warmers at home.
With the soft trails keep low pressure <5 psi
North Trails: After Satuday’s heavy traffic, North Trails have been re-groomed and damages at many places have been repaired. For Sunday riders, due to relatively warmer temperatures, please keep lower tire pressures (sub 5 psi). Enjoy north trails.
Of course you can also post your own information on the FB page and you are encouraged to do so. Here is the link:

Too Long To Read Report: Of course there is actually a third reader and for that reason I am writing you from the wood shed. I should first mention, in my defense, the batch window between receipt of actionable intelligence and press time is often quite short. There are a great many moving parts and at times quality control suffers (you think?). So, yesterday I got to hear those four words a publisher hates to hear; “Did this go out?”. I am under strict orders to allow the grooming report critic a full 30 minutes to vet for accuracy, tone and most importantly, (for lack of a better term) politeness. Being myopic I was focused upon either shrinking from being reviled for popularizing the misery factor and the unintended consequence of frequent government office closings or leaning once more into the fray. It was then that I had the epiphany. The harsh Spruce Street critic pointed out that I have likely offended countless thousands of State and Federal workers that are thankful the misery factor has come to the fore and provided relieve from their trials and tribulations on sub zero days. I am duty bound to apologize and wear a hair shirt FOR A WEEK!
See you out there. I’ll be the one with the sore back side and the funny looking shirt.
