2019 January 25, Grooming Report;

Thank you Trail Builders:

Today’s report is brought to you by  The Lindsay and Teeter Family.  I attempted to fete the Lindsay Teeter family yesterday but the Gods were not with me and I stepped on the message with the photo.  Furthermore, I had the format all messed up.  Anyway, what I was going to say is that

Without folks like the Lindsay and Teeter family we would not be able to enjoy the great skiing we have come to expect.  So, if you see them, say thanks.  New pictures from anyone will be appreciated.  I really mean this.  I agonize missing some Trail Builders.  The Lindsay and Teeter family have been long supporters and I have failed to recognize them.  Our staff will frequently rearrange the letters on my keyboard and string together the paper clips but some things are taken very seriously and recognizing our Trail Builders is at the top of the list.  Keeping current K marker pictures is difficult so please do send in a current picture of your marker if  you don’t like the current picture or have not been feted in a while.  If staff would spend less time at the water beer cooler or moving my stapler maybe they would get me current K marker pictures but…

If you have not done so, please renew your membership.

ALSO, there are K markers available. Your name and favorite picture can be here too.

Saux Head: Trails groomed weekly

Grooming yesterday, 1/24/19

Fit Strip: All trails groomed and tracked Sunday of this week but the longer outer loop is still too thin to track set and is in poor shape.

Please give feed back.  I would add, people walk on the ski trails so there are foot prints.

Big Bay Pathway:  Dennis groomed Meditation and Hidden Grin yesterday and are in great shape.  We need more snow to ski the Bear Mountain loop.

Snow Bike Trails:

South Trails: South trails were groomed Wednesday.  With the cold dry grippy snow riding should be spectacular. Mike askes everyone to be smart with your clothing choices and tell people where you are going and when you will be back.  You can get a long way back there on a bike and cold weather is nothing to mess with.

5-7 psi on single track.

3-5 psi on the panked trails.

North Trails: All North Trails groomed Sunday and are in great shape.  Recommended tire pressure is 5-6 psi.

Of course you can also post your own information on the FB page and you are encouraged to do so. Here is the link:

Too Long To Read Report: Yoopers a tough lot.  Last night was blustery to be sure.  It was snowing and blowing as hard as it can and Kaufman Auditorium was full.  There was not a seat to be had for the 7th annual Marquette Regional History Center’s winter series. This year we were entertained by Jim Koski and Jack Deo as we watched pictures and movies of Marquette from the last two centuries.  Skiers tomorrow will also show the stuff of which Yoopers are made.

See you out there.
