2019 March 14, Grooming Report;
Today’s report is brought to you by you, both grooming report readers. Without you two I wouldn’t bother putting together this drivel and neither of you would have a chance to win today’s challenge. Guess the location of this photo and you will win a fabulous cornucopia of prizes (yet to be determined). I’ll give a hint, I did take the picture a few years ago on a back country ski junket.

Forestville Real Grooming Report: A second day of thaw plus rain has groomers parked. Please avoid making deep ruts on soft trails. If you are breaking through the base, please stay off the trails. Friday’s sub freezing temperatures will set up the trails and deep ruts will be problematic.

Too Long Grooming Report: Not being one to anthropomorphize the weather I did hesitate to quote the great grooming report writer John Heywood. However, he rarely gets his due and who can deny the worm has turned. After over 100 days of hard wax skiing, we are in spring thaw conditions and skiing will become more weather dependent. Most winters have the obligatory “January thaw” and February often sees a drought. In this atypical year with no thaw and almost daily February snow, we have been spoiled. Now, if we have a loving God he/she will bring an inch or more of new snow at the back end of this first thaw. Of course there may be some that enjoy hard icy bumpy klister skiing but I don’t know any. So, here is to a good Friday snow event. See you out there regardless.
