Forestville: Skate groomed noque to 17, animoosh, chiwaji bypass. Andy had to go back and clean up where people hiked the trail after he groomed.
A note on foot traffic: The picture was not compatible with my software but you should see the beautiful grooming and the ruining foot prints. It looks like an army marched down the trail on top of the entire skate lane and classic track. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior. It is not possible these people were ignorant of what they were doing. If you see such activity attempt to deescalate and suggest there are other places to walk or at least walk on the non-classic side edge. A big “thank you” goes out to Andy for going back to clean this up in the small hours of the morning.
Fit Strip: The Fit Strip was roll packed but is still very thin. Neil says rock skis are needed if you go out. Think snow.
Big Bay Pathway: Meditation and Hidden Grin was groomed on 1/2/21. Track set and trail is in good condition even with the lack of snow. Best Mountain and Ridgeline will be closed for 2021.
Saux Head: All trails were skate lane groomed on the 1st. Classic tracks remain in good shape.

North Trails Grooming:
Late Sunday night groomed to clean up ruts and smooth the trails on the following:
Basin Loop (Silver Lead, Collinsville, BLP Rocks, Blue Heron, Upper Blue Heron) and the Forestville Trails (Midnight Snack, Ramblin Man & Wildcat)
Coverage is thin with exposed rocks and roots, especially at lower elevations Use caution on BLP Rocks as there are a couple of icy areas.
South Trails Grooming:
South Trails were groomed Sunday. Its in pretty good shape now.
Mt. Marquette loop, Main loop, Enchantment loop, and Old Camp Ridge……OCR still needs some work but is ridable.
Also groomed Eh-line but its not going to be ridable for a bit yet.
All in all, pretty good considering the lack of snow.

WTLGR: I know all you “nice” people are out sporting new clothes and equipment from Santa while the rest of us have to use subterfuge. As you recall, last year I used the Homer Simpson approach. Remember when he got Marge a new bowling ball? The holes were drilled to his hand because he didn’t have her hand with him and the monogram “Homer” was so she could see who made the gift? Remember last year I got the grooming report critic nice flip up cross country ski goggles? Her old ones were quite scratched and the dark lens was cracked. This year I went with the Lucile Ball technique. You know, when she came home from shopping and put everything in the closet? Ethel couldn’t understand why so Lucy explained, “Oh, I put new things in the closet for a while. Then when Ricky sees them I can more easily say, Oh, this old thing?”. My not-so-subtle hints about the failing pistol grips or the fiberglass patch failed to do the trick so I’ve been hiding my new graphite polls; you know, the ones with multiple basket sizes and a swing weight of a feather? I had to break them out yesterday after my old grip finally tore off the pole entirely. Don’t tell her; she hasn’t seen them yet.
