November 18, 2018; Grooming Report
Forestville Real Grooming Report: Yesterday noon we roll packed the Noque’ to 19k as well as Animoosh, Zing and Boozhoo. Skating yesterday afternoon was very good. Classic was also good but there are no classic tracks set as of yet.
Way Too Long Grooming Report: First, please know, I am wearing my hair shirt for failing to get a report out yesterday. We had technical difficulties. Our carrier pigeon broke a wing and had to walk all the way to spruce street.
On a lighter note, I got new skis yesterday! Now, some of you know that the name
Sondo translates to “user of old sporting equipment”. So, when Wally and Carrie drove by the shop they had to stop the car to see if it was really me walking out with nice new skis. They ask me who I was and what I did with Sondo. After I reminded them I broke my (11 year old) race skis last spring they forgave me for acting out of character.
So, I then sprinted back to my waxing den and then to the trail head. Failing to bring blaze orange, I asked a skier if I could borrow his. I’m sure he had some second thoughts but relented. I expect he was calculating if I were to be hit by a stray bullet we get an improved grooming report writer.

PS: Skiers are reminded to wear orange and to respect hunters. And, hunters are reminded not to shoot skiers with orange hats. No grooming can take place during the day until December 1st to keep the woods quiet during fire arm deer season. For extra credit, what year did we get the blaze orange Noque’ hats?
