November 19, 2018; Grooming Report
Forestville Real Grooming Report: An inch of new snow overnight will be nature’s grooming for today’s skiers. As you recall, on Saturday we roll packed the Noque’ to the 19k mark near the gate as well as Animoosh, Zing and Boozhoo. Skating yesterday afternoon was very good. Classic was also good but there are no classic tracks set as of yet. Andy is back from the first weekend of Deer camp and will groom tonight.
Way Too Long Grooming Report: Did you look at the 6 day forecast? Could it get any better? Snow today and night and not at high temp over freezing! Andy will get the Wagis rolled and hopes to get some classic tracks set. The early season rolling has allowed the ground to freeze. We look to be seeing mid season conditions in November. Now I just need some mid season legs, arms and lungs.
Also, just a word on the trail head. We have ordered a new time operated door. The one we have been using gave up the ghost this fall. With a short week this week we are not expecting to have it fixed until next week. You youngsters have heard stories about when we used to have to sit in our cars and change our boots and then just drive home after skiing. So, imagine this is old timer’s week and you can get an idea of how life was in the olden days.

PS: Skiers are reminded to wear orange and to respect hunters. And, hunters are reminded not to shoot skiers with orange hats. No grooming can take place during the day until December 1st to keep the woods quiet during fire arm deer season.
