November 25, 2018; Grooming Report:
A return to freezing temperatures will have a hard service on the Noque’ to 17k and Animoosh. We expect the powerlines at 10k and areas under hemlock groves will likely have some dirt showing. I fear the rolled sections of Chiwaji bypass, Muckwa, Waaban, Migizi, and Gookookoo will have some ruts that will make skiing difficult. With new snow likely tonight and tomorrow this icy skiing looks to be short lived. Groomers will be out to assess and groom as soon as weather permits. Any first hand reports will be appreciated.
Way too long report:
Two days off the boards is too long. On the up side, I did get to see that episode of Gilligan’s Island where they almost got rescued. Now with a return to freezing temperatures some skiers feel new fresh snow should follow immediately with no icy crust skiing at all! Au contraire. Now we can enjoy listening to the icy scratching of skis on crust and those of you with strong toes will be showing them off gripping their boot bottoms as they fly by. And, who doesn’t want to show off a little trail rash on their face after failing to navigate a step turn. Remember, this isn’t supposed to be fun; it’s an aerobic sport after all. If the intent was “fun” they would have called it quadratic equations or accounting.
See you out there.
