December 20, 2018 Grooming Report;

Forestville Real Grooming Report: Carlson is grooming made the turn at 17k reporting nice skate lanes. He will also clean the skate lanes on Animoosh and Chiwaji bypass. He reports the classic tracks are still extant although icy and worn. Yesterday we did groom Muckwa, Migizi, Boozhoo, Zhing and Papasay and all should be quite nice under the circumstances.

Saux Head: Trails were groomed Sunday and the skate lane was reported as very good yesterday once it softened up after noon. The classic tracts were fair at best and mostly icy.
Fit Strip: Trails were groomed last week and are groomed about once per week.
Big Bay Pathway: Too little snow in the woods so trails are closed. The Big Bay Trails are groomed for classic skiing and are through the rugged hills south of Big Bay. They are spectacular but need ample snow to cover the rugged terrain. We groom as weather permits so think cold and snow. Trails are just off Co Rd 550 in Big Bay.
Way Too Long Grooming Report: The smart money bet was that grooming would not be possible given yesterday’s rain and overnight warm temperatures. However, the snow is quite old now and the crystals quite large. This allows water to drain away rather quickly allowing the skate lanes to be dressed. Today should be quite nice for skate technique and west of the 10k power lines even the classic tracks are ok except under the hemlock groves. Were I not positioning my neck under a boot I would be on the trails as we speak.
