Forestville Real Grooming Report: Sorry I am late today. Darn the day job. This morning Andy and Karl groomed out the Noque’ to Co Rd 510 and came back via Bagwagi! Heavy snow today and night will keep the groomers busy for the next few days.
As always, your feedback is appreciated. Send in pictures and you too can get your K marker moved to the front of the line.
Saux Head: Christmas day all skate lanes were groomed and tracks were set on the Race Loop. The track is thin in some areas, mainly on the Peep O Day, Hemlock Pass and near the Scenic Overlook. Overall, the trail is in good shape for a fun ski.
Fit Strip: Trails are groomed about once per week.
Big Bay Pathway: Too little snow in the woods so trails are closed. The Big Bay Trails are groomed for classic skiing and are through the rugged hills south of Big Bay. They are spectacular but need ample snow to cover the rugged terrain. We groom as weather permits so think cold and snow. Trails are just off Co Rd 550 in Big Bay.
Way Too Long Grooming Report: No less an expert than Joe offered the comment, “yesterday’s skate skiing was the best all season.”. I didn’t get out and I am not very happy about that. With regard to tomorrow, I disagree with the “R” word in the forecast. One must sound a certain rather than tepid bugle. I don’t care if it is weather forecasters, sports prognosticators or stock market pundits: The most well respected are not the most accurate but rather the most emphatic. So, I say with strong conviction, it will not rain but rather snow all day and night. See you out there.
