2019 January 28, Grooming Report;
Thank you Trail Builders:
Today’s report is brought to you by Doug and Laurie Weesen. Without folks like Doug and Laurie we would not be able to enjoy the great skiing we have come to expect. So, if you see them, say thanks. New pictures from anyone will be appreciated. I really mean this. I agonize missing some Trail Builders.
If you have not done so, please renew your membership. ALSO, there are K markers available. Your name and favorite picture can be here too.
Forestville Real Grooming Report: The day after the Noque’ and the Sunday Wild Side events the trails are beat up and need attention. So Andy Bombi groomed and tracked on noque from the ponds to the pines loop. Animoosh, chiwaji bypass, chiwaji hills, bagwaji, Mukwa, migizi, gookookoo, Zhing, and the connections. This week’s cold temperatures and post Noque skier hiatus will keep trails in great shape for some time now. Today’s light cold snow will ski in nicely.

Saux Head: Trails groomed weekly
Rolled 1/24/19
Fit Strip: All trails groomed and tracked early in the week but the longer outer loop is still thin. Jenna reported this yesterday that the outside loop is ok to ski and there is not much foot traffic with the cold weather but the trails is getting beat up now and could use some snow. She recommends getting out of the classic tracks on the down hills. Please give feed back. I would add, people walk on the ski trails so there are foot prints.
Big Bay Pathway: Dennis groomed Meditation and Hidden Grin Thursday and are in great shape. We need more snow to ski the Bear Mountain loop.
Snow Bike Trails:
South Trails: South trails were groomed Wednesday. With the cold dry grippy snow riding should be spectacular. Mike askes everyone to be smart with your clothing choices and tell people where you are going and when you will be back. You can get a long way back there on a bike and cold weather is nothing to mess with.
5-7 psi on single track.
3-5 psi on the panked trails.
North Trails: Saturday morning all trails were groomed and the drifting spots were cleared. Recommended 4-5 psi.
Of course you can also post your own information on the FB page and you are encouraged to do so. Here is the link:

Too Long To Read Report: As you may have suspected, my evil twin stole my password and put out some nonsense about my ski not being really slow! (now come the obligatory, how slow were they call and response section)
My skis were so slow…
(chorus) How slow were they…
(ridiculous comment that few read and no one believes)
They were so slow that one lady pushing a stroller passed me going down hill (etc).
Oh well, sorry for the poor showing and I’ll be younger next year and find a pain threshold above the current “zero”.
However, on a more serious(?) note, wasn’t the trail spectacular? Even for skiers at the back of the pack the down hills were all really good skiing. Often times there are deep ruts from snow plowing skiers but the carefully groomed bullet proof snow, not ice, kept the entire trail excellent. Then there were the optics: snow piles on the downed over mature hemlocks was piled 3’ high. The bright sun and light air made the sub zero temperatures feel mild indeed. I do hope you all enjoyed yourselves. I really did.
