2019 March 21, Grooming Report;

The things you find when looking for something else!  So, I was looking for one of those Union 76 antenna balls and came across all sorts of things from the day but alas, no antenna balls.  For either of you under the age of 60, antenna balls were orange Styrofoam balls you would put on top of your radio antenna.  Of course I haven’t had a car with an old style antenna in decades but I’m sure I have a ball somewhere in some random tool and supply (ie; junk) drawer.  Of course, I will only find it when I don’t need it; like, can I use a 1957 button to get in to the ski jumps anymore?

In any case, if you have not done so, please renew your membership.  There are K markers available. Your name and favorite picture can be here too.

New pictures from anyone will be appreciated.  I really mean this.  I agonize missing some Trail Builders.

As always, your feedback is appreciated via reply to this email or to FB.    Send in pictures and you too can get your K marker moved to the front of the line.  See the Nordic skiing FB page https://www.facebook.com/NTNNordic/

Saux Head: Groomed and set track Saturday morning. The classic track is thin in some areas but skiing will be very good.  There is fine tree debris on the trail in areas where there is dense hemlock and red pine.

Fit Strip: The trail was groomed Sunday  but the 4 wheeler used to pull the equipment has broken down.  Yesterday’s groom is likely to be the last for the season.

Big Bay Pathway:  There are a few areas on Bear Mountain that are starting to deteriorate.  Boe is not sure if the trail will survive the warm weather next week.

South Snow Bike Trails: We are in spring “freeze/thaw” cycle.  This is a great part of snow biking but please avoid riding when it is so warm your tracks cut through the base.

North Trails:

Trails will be hard in the morning.  Look out for soft snow later in the day and try not to “pizza cut” the base.

Of course you can also post your own information on the FB page and you are encouraged to do so. Here is the link:
