December 29, 2019 Grooming Report

Yesterday on Chiwagi
Forestville: Warm weather and an expected snow event combined with rock solid trails last night indicated no grooming today. Morning skiers will find excellent skiing on all trails from Forestville to Co Rd 510. The Bombi grooming for yesterday morning will still have trails in great shape.

Way too Long Grooming Report: You should have been here yesterday. I fear I under sold conditions in yesterday’s report. Joe thinks the hair shirt is in order. Was it undersold to the point of donning the burlap? I’ll wait for either one of you to provide feed back. Clearly skiing was excellent. The weather was ideal with near freezing temperatures full sun and light air. Trails were smooth and hard. If you were looking for a personal best time to 510 and back yesterday was the day. The up hills were fantastic. Even the old guys (gender neutral term) could skate up. The downhills were thrilling. I don’t normally get an adrenaline rush going down Migizi but a speed wobble from the crisp corduroy will do the trick.

Saux Head: The trail system was groomed and track set today, Friday, 12-20-2019. I expect the freeze has left some ruts and a very fast surface.

Big Bay Pathway: The Hidden Grin and Meditation Loops were groomed on Friday evening, 12/20. I expect the freeze has left some ruts and a very fast surface.

Fit Strip: Fit strip equipment is back in service but the trails are in tough shape after the freeze thaw. New snow is on the way so expect good skiing by Tuesday.

Snow Bike South Trails:
