Today’s report is brought to you by Doug & Laurie Neldberg-Weesen: Doug and Laurie are trail builder sponsors on the Noque’. Without the support of folks like Doug and Laurie, we would not have the great trails we have come to expect. If you see them, say thanks.
Trail Builder sections are available. Please visit www.noquetrails.org and follow the links. You too can be feted in an up coming grooming report.

Way too Long Grooming Report:
There is so much going on I am reminded of the old ad jingle sung by Ace Brigode & His Fourteen Virginians; how did they get those 8 great tomatoes in that itty bitty can. The print ads would show workers hammering or using shoe horns in futile attempts to get way too much tomato into way too little can. Witticisms will have to be left on the cutting room floor today. Instead, I will urge you to take advantage of Demo days and race ready grooming on 50k (my estimate) of trails and then cheer on the Special Olympics athletes in the winter games today. The picture above is the start/finish for the cross country ski events to be held at Rippling River Resort. The Noquemanon Trails Network provides grooming equipment and labor to set up, groom and stage the event. Please thank the folks from the Big Bay Pathway NTN for bringing in the 4’ track setter and the Single Track South Trails NTN for providing the snowmobile. Check out the four classic tracks with the ski hill in the back ground. Marquette is a winter sports wonderland at its finest.
Saux Head: Craig rolled and Tracy dragged the entire skate lane Friday. Tim will groom and set track this morning, Saturday, 1/11/2020.
Big Bay Pathway: The Hidden Grin Loop was groomed Wednesday. After Thursday’s thaw trails may be a little icy.
If you do ski please be aware, this is classic only and you may find rough areas. The terrain quite rugged and does need a good deal of snow just to cover. Please let us know what you find. I have not been on the Big Bay trails yet (bad dog).
Fit Strip: Neil groomed Monday. After Thursday’s thaw trails may be a little icy.
Snow Bike South Trails: Nick and Lori groomed everything currently open on South Trails Friday night including Main Loop, Enchantment, Mt. Marquette/Blue Loop, and Black to Border Grill. Heads up as there are still some water hazards on jeep trail descent and a few scattered locations.
Snow Bike North Trails: All of North Winter Trails are groomed and drifting sections were repaired. Should be in good riding condition for the weekend.
THE FORESTVILLE TRAIL HEAD CHALET IS OPEN! Chalet hours are 7 AM to 10 PM and rental equipment is available between 10 and 4. Space is still limited during construction but come in and enjoy the fire and company.
