Grooming Feb 2, 2020

Today’s report is brought to you by WLUC TV 6:     TV6 are trail builder on the Noque’.  Without the support of folks like TV6 we would not have the excellent trails we have come to expect.  If you see them, say thanks.

Trail Builder sections are available.  Please visit www.noquetrails.org and follow the links.  You too can be feted in an up coming grooming report.

Forestville:  An inch of snow overnight will be nature’s grooming today.  On top of yesterday’s Bully grooming on all trails will make for very nice skiing until warm weather and maybe drizzle begin mid-afternoon.

Way too Long Grooming Report:

Well, the skis were left in the basement yesterday (and they weren’t very happy about it).  But, getting secret bike miles took precedence.  Come April there will be some (other) jerk that will want to drop me on the first hill.  Normally I get dropped during the neutral roll out.  I know I am acting like a kid that just learned his slap shot or to solve problems using the inverse matrix iterative method; you want to do it all the time and cant stop talking about it.  I road everything west of Co Rd 553 and it was awesome.  Even the foot paths were great to ride.  The track was firm with only a few ruts.  Freak of Nature was like a roller coaster.  Riders are cautioned to watch their tracks in today’s warming temperatures.  Summer riders see signs that say such things as, “Skids are for squids” (non-sense to be sure but everyone gets the point).  We need a similar slogan to prevent riders from using too much air pressure.  Please help me out on this one; maybe, Pizza cutters are for pizza.  Suggestions welcome.  Here is a shout out and thank you to the two riders I met from Green Bay; they provided (as my father called them) grain pop. For the  après-bike.

Saux Head:  All trails were groomed and set track Tuesday, the 27th. Some sections of classic track are thin.  Skiing will be excellent today.

Big Bay Pathway:  The Big Bay Pathway was groomed on January 31.  Hidden Grin is in excellent condition.

Fit Strip:  Wednesday night the Fit Strip Lit Loop was groomed and the Outer Loop was rolled.

Snow Bike South Trails:

AS OF THURSDAY JANUARY 30:

Groomed everything except oak hill. I’d still run less than 5psi, but it’s getting pretty good out there.

Some bridges are getting a bit off camber with deep snow. Improvements continue, but be aware until we get to them.
