A Day on the Trails, Is a Day Well Spent Marquette Art Week Competition Guidelines

Noquemanon Trail Network is looking for your artistic interpretation of what a “a day well spent” on the NTN trails looks like. Six works of art will be selected to be reproduced in large format vinyl and displayed on the NTN Trails during Marquette’s Art Week celebration on June 21-27th. That week happens to also be Marquette Trails Festival June 25-27th and a great time to show your love of the trails. All six large format works will be auctioned off in support of the trails at the end of Art Week.

SPECIFICATIONS:
• Only original artwork submitted by the artist or artist representative will be accepted.
• Limit of two entries per artist.
• Two-dimensional artwork only.
• All media is eligible.
• Size must be at least 9” wide x 12” high at 300 dpi or higher resolution with a ration of 3 (width): 4 (height). Higher resolution of 600 dpi recommended for best image results.
• Selected artwork not submitted at required size ratio may be subject to cropping.
• Art must be submitted in digital format.
• Artist must complete separate submission forms for each submission.
• Artwork should not have been previously reproduced or submitted for competition.
• Limit text on artwork to interpretive elements (no advertising) and artist signature.
• Under 18 artists need parental consent.

ENTRY FORM/DEADLINE: Download the entry form here. Entries must be received at the Noquemanon Trail Network office via Google Drive, Dropbox, thumb drive or other digital submission by 5pm on June 1, 2021. Submit to getoutside@noquetrails.org. Please call office to confirm receipt. 906-235-6861

JUDGING: Six works of art will be selected for reproduction on large format vinyl by a panel of judges comprised of local artists, business owners, and NTN members. Prints and artist statements will be on display trailside throughout art week. With permission of selected artist, NTN may ask to print additional copies for display or sale to raise funds for the trails.

NOTIFICATION: Selected artist will be notified no later than Monday, June 7th if they have been selected for Art Week display.

PRIZES:
• Recognition as a selected artist.
• Winning images to be reproduced for display, auction as fundraiser, and possible sale of smaller prints.
• Each of 6 selected artists will receive voucher for $50 in NTN merchandise or free entry to a Trails Festival event.
