Forestville: Forestville received about 8” of heavy snow yesterday. Andy rolled and groomed the Noque’ and Animoosh to the pine plantation as well as Chiwagi by pass and Mukwa. He completed the grooming about 4AM and another 3”+ of fairly fluffy snow fell on top.

Way too Long Grooming Report: If you did get out yesterday I do hope you got there early. I expect morning skiers had an ideal day. A picture tells a story. I wanted to get skiing early so took the short cut. It looks like the road through N&N is done for the year. On the up side, I got to use my climbing shovel. Even an old man, if motivated, can move a good deal of snow with a small shovel. Once at Forestville I found the snow globe scene we have come to expect so often this year. However, with that much heavy snow even touring skis tended to roll under foot. It was like standing on a basket ball on top of a basket ball. It could be done but you couldn’t even pretend it was fun. However, just being out in the environment was fun.
Saux Head: Tim and John will be out roll packing but expect soft snow.
Big Bay Pathway: Sven and team will be out grooming as soon as they can but expect soft snow.
Fit Strip: Neil rolled the trails last night so trails will be skiable today but no classic tracks yet. Several inches of new snow will have fallen on the packed trails. Neil plans to groom and track set tonight.
Snow Bike South Trails:
The team is out today but don’t expect much to be open. Folks on snow shoes are encouraged. Walking the trails and clearing wind falls would be a great help.
Snow Bike North Trails: Groomers will be out today but not much will be rideable. Show shoes and brush clearing would be a great help if you are anxious to get out and enjoy this new snow.
THE FORESTVILLE TRAIL HEAD CHALET IS OPEN! Chalet hours are 7 AM to 10 PM and rental equipment is available between 10 and 4. Space is still limited during construction but come in and enjoy the fire and company.
