Sorry, no pictures and poor format style. We are working on the site and hope to be back to normal soon.
Forestville Trailhead building is now open but only when hosts are on duty. Monday-Friday 10am-4pm, Saturday-Sunday 9am-4pm. The chalet will be open for you to quickly change, use a warm bathroom, secure rental equipment (skis, snowshoes, and fat bikes), and ask questions of the trail host. Masks and social distancing are required indoors at all times and all visitors will need to sign in. Barriers are in place around the info desk to protect our trail hosts, couches have been removed, sanitizer is available in multiple locations, and other recommended protocols will be followed. Sorry there will be no warming your toes by the fire while enjoying lunch in between ski sessions however an area outside will be maintained with a firepit and picnic tables. Note that operations are subject to change and the disregard or challenge of safety protocols will not be tolerated.
Forestville: Fresh Ginzu groom on the Noque’ and Animoosh to the bridge at 17k. The trails are getting smoother but it is still very thin. New snow is forecast for later today and tomorrow so we may get through this thin snow thing soon.
Saux Head: All trails were rolled yesterday morning and coverage is good but far from perfect. I did ski the entire system yesterday and never hit bottom but some of the down hills gave me pause. However, the flats and especially the up hills were very good. There are more major climbs (w elevation change greater than 120’) than I can count. At my advanced age, I am way more interested in the climb than the thrill of the down hill anyway and the climbs are in great shape.
Groomers will get out as soon as weather permits.
