February 14, 2020 Grooming Report
Today’s report is brought to you by Daniel and Constance Arnold: The Daniel and Constance are trail builders on the Noque’. Without the support of folks like the Arnolds we would not have the excellent trails we have come to expect. If you see them, say thanks.
Trail Builder sections and Snow Bike trail sections are available. Please visit www.noquetrails.org and follow the links. You too can be feted in an up coming grooming report.
Forestville: Overnight Andy Bully groomed everything from the ponds to 17k!

Way too Long Grooming Report:
I understand the physiologic process but the mental process is the one that scares me; has it begun? We have all seen the physical process in click bate pictures. Pressure sores develop and then become open wounds. They heal around the material. This goes on for some time. Eventually you need to be surgically removed from the couch. Alexa told me it was -11f but the temperature would soar into the double digits above zero by mid afternoon. With Bully grooming I may find the necessary motivation to perform the home surgery needed to remove the couch from my back side. The hard part will be waxing. Now where is my Start Green.
Saux Head: Saux Head was groomed and track set Sunday. Blowing snow will have drifted open areas.
.
Big Bay Pathway: Trails were groomed Saturday. Blowing snow will have drifted some open areas.
Fit Strip: Neil groomed and tracked the classic loop and the lit loop Sunday. Blowing snow will have drifted some open areas.
Snow Bike South Trails: Grooming as of February 14
One note, that section from under 553 up to the snowmobile trail is NOT OPEN. It will be open for the Polar Roll Race. It is not good for riding yet and it is dangerous as it crosses the snowmobile trail. Please do not ride this section.
Happy Valentine’s Day. We love you all so much we groomed twice yesterday! Trails are in great shape, grab your sweetie and/or your posse and get out there.
Polar Roll course is getting most of the attention, but in the evening we also plowed almost everything else on the system that’s open. Trails are in great shape, slightly variable in the usual drifting areas.
Be aware that Polar Roll signers and groomers will be on the trails most of the day. We will be moving in race direction during the day, backwards later on. We’re watching for you, please watch for us.

Snow Bike North Trails: As of last Wednesday night all North Trails in the system are rideable and firm. The section from the Tourist Park to NMU is groomed regularly and very nice. Jump on the corduroy on the north side of Wright Street across from Meyland Hall. I rode yesterday (Sunday) and it was great. I would add, there were a few slick spots under the evergreen trees west of the TP.
THE FORESTVILLE TRAIL HEAD CHALET IS OPEN! Chalet hours are 7 AM to 10 PM and rental equipment is available between 10 and 4. Come in and enjoy the fire and company.
