Grooming February 15, 2020
Today’s report is brought to you by U.P. Holistic Medicine: The nice folks at U.P. Holistic Medicine are trail builders on the Noque’. Without the support of folks like U.P. Holistic Medicine we would not have the excellent trails we have come to expect. If you see them, say thanks.
Trail Builder sections and Snow Bike trail sections are available. Please visit www.noquetrails.org and follow the links. You too can be feted in an up coming grooming report.
Forestville: Overnight Andy Bully groomed the Noque’ and Animoosh from the ponds to Co Rd 510 including the Mead by pass. Very light traffic on trails yesterday will mean great skiing on all trails.

Way too Long Grooming Report:
So, I did (surgically) remove the couch from my person but did not get to ski. It wasn’t for lack of desire. You know how it goes; you say, sure, I can help you, what time is best. Then, you wait with baited breath…and then it comes: “Lets do it at 3:00 PM.”. Your heart sinks because mid-morning is already booked. Hiding your “rats” look, you say, “Great, see you then.”. So, we were in the middle of the task and one guy says, “Well, at least it isn’t 7:00 AM (the normal time for this particular project). When I said I had wished for the normal time everyone looked at me like I had two heads. Oh well, I missed a day of race ready skiing. I bet it has happened to both of you at one time or another.
Saux Head: Saux Head last reported grooming as of last Sunday. Some snow and drifting has occurred since then. The trails are all in mature timber so drifting would be minimal. If you do ski Saux Head please do let us know how it is.
.
Big Bay Pathway: Trails were last reported as groomed last Saturday. If you do ski Big Bay please let us know how you found the trails.
Fit Strip: Neil last reported grooming last Sunday. If you do ski the Fit Strip please let us know what you found.
Snow bike trails format comments:
You will note a change in the snow bile reporting format. We are attempting to improve the reporting and apologize for lacking current information. It has been almost a week since I have been on the bike and today is looking problematic too. Snow bike conditions are a bit different than reporting on the ski trails. Snow bike conditions can be as good as it gets even a week after the last groom if the weather has cooperated. As such, the best information comes from first hand rider information rather than groomers. It has been a fantastic season for riding. Trail workers had to bust their tails early in the year to clear downed trees but now we can all enjoy the fruits of their labors. If you do ride any trail segment and can provide your fellow riders with insight, please to drop an email reply and we will update the reporting.
Snow Bike South Trails: Grooming as of February 14
One note, that section from under 553 up to the snowmobile trail is NOT OPEN. It will be open for the Polar Roll Race. It is not good for riding yet and it is dangerous as it crosses the snowmobile trail. Please do not ride this section.
Happy Valentine’s Day. We love you all so much we groomed twice yesterday! Trails are in great shape, grab your sweetie and/or your posse and get out there.
Polar Roll course is getting most of the attention, but in the evening we also plowed almost everything else on the system that’s open. Trails are in great shape, slightly variable in the usual drifting areas.
Be aware that Polar Roll signers and groomers will be on the trails most of the day. We will be moving in race direction during the day, backwards later on. We’re watching for you, please watch for us.
