Forestville: Warm overnight temperatures have the groomers parked today. Look for a snow event tonight.
Fit Strip: Warm weather likely has the trail is tough shape.

I don’t know the recommended PSI for today but expect by noon a very soft tire may be indicated. Watch your track. Don’t ruin it for everyone. What you leave behind will freeze tonight.

WTLGR: Did you enjoy the first day of spring? Astronomical spring is almost two months off and the, so called, meteorological spring won’t begin for another six days. However, the real spring is emotional. A warm day in January feels like a January thaw. You know, kind of like a cold day before the 4th of July doesn’t feel like the start of fall. However, a cold day in late July does. The official Yooper fall begins with the start of Escanaba’s “State” fair on August 15th but cold weather between the 21st of July and August 15th is clearly the harbinger. So too, the first warm day in late February heralds spring. It felt like someone flipped a switch.
I hope you enjoyed it; I know I did. Of course, enjoyment often requires embracing the challenge. I consider it all joy. Smells are the most evocative sense when it comes to memory and none are more memorable than those of a spring day. I was enjoying the powerful aroma yesterday and it brought me back to mountain biking half a lifetime ago. Remember the trails behind the ball fields near what is now the southern extension of McClellan Avenue? This goes back to the time before named trails and IMBA standards. I doubt we would site the trail in the same spot today. The smell is the same throughout the world. So, I made a note to self; pick a cold day if you have to go to the County landfill.
