Chalet is now open! Hours are M-F 10-4 and S-S 9-4.
Forestville Trails:
Last night Andy Ginzu groomed and tracked on Noque from FVTH to Co Rd 510, plus Chiwagi by pass, Bagwagi, Gookoo, Migizi and Papasay. Skiing should be very good for the new year.
Way Too Long Grooming Report:
I am so sorry to be a “no-show-no-call” yesterday. From time to time events conspire to make even the easy seem difficult. Your indulgence will be appreciated if offered.
On an unrelated note, those of us in critical need of, what can only be called, appearance mitigation rest, didn’t make it to see the Pasty Plop from the Savings Bank Building down town (or even the televised re-enactment performed in Times Square, NY). Right after posting this report I will check on the big game result. When I turned in it was a 1-1 tie. The Wings held The Great 8 off the board for 2 and a half periods and overtime looks to be in the offing. It has been years since the Wings have even been in the conversation bast Thanksgiving so it is a good year indeed. Let us hope the new year gets off to a good start with a win over the Caps. I should add, I understand that wasn’t the only Michigan team in action last night. I don’t know about the other game either but let us just hope it wasn’t an embarrassment for either team.
Saux Head Trails: Tim groomed and track set the entire trail system Wednesday morning. However, the track is very thin on the south end of the Peep O Day loop, on the Hemlock Pass section, and very steep, short hill facing South on the Wilson Creek loop. Track is pretty decent throughout rest of the system.
Fit Strip: Groomers were out but there was some dirt showing as of Thursday. Several more inches have fallen since. Let us know what you find.
Snow Bike “North Trails” Upper and Lower Loops, plus all the FV trails were groomed Wednesday afternoon/evening.
1-2″ of fresh snow incorporated into the base definitely helps for coverage and with the cold overnight temps should result in excellent trail conditions for Thursday
Snow Bike “South Trails” Jeff P reports riding is now good without studs. Check out the pictures.
See you out there,
Sondo
