Way too Long Grooming Report:
I trust you did ski yesterday. It was epic! I know, I can hear the critic (correctly) commenting, “you say that all the time”. Yah, but, this time… I don’t know how it was in the morning but by early afternoon an inch of fine snow had fallen on top of a spectacular Bully groomed and tracked surface. Then, at about 1:00 a super fine, almost invisible mist was freezing on your glasses, and, more importantly, the snow. The snow remained fluffy, yet, lightning fast. The glazed layer was so fine when you dragged a pole in the snow it reacted as if there was only powder. It was the most remarkable thing to behold. The wide and race smooth skate lane made even my technique efficient. Gliding trail edge to trail edge, it was like having a motor. And, me without a camera. I typically bring my phone for two reasons; first of all, for safety. I pre-dial 911 and then rig it to a dead man switch. That way, when I pop that pesky aneurysm, EMS will find the body before dark. But, more importantly, photos can be taken to tell the story. Forgetting my phone on such a day must have been divine providence. Lacking documented proof one can begin embellishing immediately. I am reminded of Chuck Noll’s famous (at the time in 1969) “Biggest Wave Ever Ridden” painting. There are no documented phots of the event, but the stories are graphic. No one could believe he would actually go for it; and then he did. The tons of white water chased him down the face to a dramatic bottom turn before it close out. He went over the waterfall and many feared death. He drug himself on shore to the accolades of all in attendance. Imagine a world where at such an event, no one had a camera! The painting by Painting by John Kaelin is all we have. Imagine how much small the legend had we actual photographic evidence. So, sorry, no pictures. You will have to paint your own.
Saux Head: Tracy cleaned up the skate lane on all trails yesterday. Tracks are still good.

Big Bay Pathway:
The Big Bay Pathway was groomed Wednesday. Hidden Grin and Meditation are in great shape for skiing.
Bear Mountain was not groomed and needs maintenance. We will be working on it ASAP.
Fit Strip: Trails were groomed and track set Wednesday. The plan is to groom again today.
Snow Bike South Trails:
South trails are groomed, firm and fast.
Snow Bike North Trails:
All trails except Mild Cat and BLP Rocks were groomed Thursday 1/13. Lyle reports the surface is firm but some drifting in open areas.
