Grooming January 19, 2020

Today’s report is brought to you by Craig and Phyllis Stien:     Craig and Phyllis are trail builder sponsors on the Noque’.  Without the support of folks like Craig and Phyllis we would not have the excellent trails we have come to expect.  If you see them, say thanks.

Trail Builder sections are available.  Please visit www.noquetrails.org and follow the links.  You too can be feted in an up coming grooming report.

Way too Long Grooming Report:

This may be a day to ski Saux Head.  They did roll and drag yesterday and plan to roll or drag today depending on the amount of overnight snow.  Trails will be quite soft but the optics will be spectacular.  I do hope everyone gets outside today.

Saux Head:  Saturday night Tim reported: After receiving 6-8 inches today, Craig rolled the trail and John followed with the drag.  We are still receiving lake effect snow.  Depending on how much we get during the night will determine if we groom or roll again tomorrow (Sunday) morning.  Either way, the trail will be skiable tomorrow, Sunday, the 19th.

Big Bay Pathway:  Hidden Grin was groomed the Saturday and is ready to go.  The trail is in excellent condition.  The fresh snow hanging in the trees is beautiful.

Dennis and Nick groomed at 1 PM Saturday.  I would add, I am not sure how much new snow fell after grooming.

Fit Strip: Heavy snow today.

Snow Bike South Trails: Reported the night of January 16: All open trails are plowed, mostly firm. 4-6 psi but heavy snow today will be building on the trails.

Huge thanks to the crew of volunteers that cleared trees on oak hill loop, we were able to groom it in earlier this week. The spur connecting oak hill to top of freak n nature is in as well.

Snow Bike North Trails: The following North Trail sections were groomed Saturday and are ridable with about 4psi pressure: The Pine, Penstock, Blue Heron up to the Forest Basin Rd, BLP Rocks, Collinsville up to the dam. Rest will be groomed Sunday.

THE FORESTVILLE TRAIL HEAD CHALET IS OPEN! Chalet hours are 7 AM to 10 PM and rental equipment is available between 10 and 4.  Space is still limited during construction but come in and enjoy the fire and company.
