November 22, 2018; Grooming Report:
We all have many things for which to be thankful. One of them is Andy’s long night in the saddle. With three inches of fresh snow trails needed to be rolled. For the rest of the night Andy track set on the Noque’ to 17k and Animoosh. Skate skiers will enjoy Chiwaji bypass, Muckwa, Waaban, Migizi, and Gookookoo with no classic tracks.
Way too long report:
Weather forecasting and the sports section both share a key element in the human spirit. When my team wins the world takes on a brighter aspect. Big city news papers print far more papers on days following a sports victory. Then, when Seattle beats the Packers I am happy to say “foot ball is a stupid made up game”. So too with weather prognostications. When you look at the 6 day forecast and it is below freezing and snow every day my heart is gladdened. Then, on days like today I am happy to say either, “what do they know?” or, a little rain will set this base and then Saturday’s new snow will make for even better skiing; take your pick. This early season skiing has my sock drawer in disarray anyway so a day off may be just what my “to do” list needs.
