Today’s report is brought to us by the NTN Grooming Staff and Volunteers. If you see someone that is providing required services, please thank them. Please do what you can to help. Buy local.
Please help us continue to groom as long as possible. You may follow the link https://noquetrails.org/product/nordic-fund/ and contribute or feel free to contact the office or reply to this grooming report. No contribution is too small.
Trail memberships can be purchased on the web site. Please visit www.noquetrails.org and follow the links. You too can be feted in an up coming grooming report.
SPRING SCHEDULE IN EFFECT: Trail Head is closed and the privy is locked. Practice save social distancing and enjoy the beautiful skiing.
Check out the groom from last night
Check out Dave’s ski from yesterday
Forestville: Last night Andy Ginzu groomed with the Ginzu lastnight and was able to set a track but it varies in quality. It was pretty good on Noque, Animoosh, and Chiwaji bypass. He went all the way to 510 but reported it was too cold by then and could not set a track so it is skate groomed only with mixed results as well. I should add, Andy is consistently far too modest in his assessment. Based on the picture, it looks fabulous.

Check out the work to cover under the power lines and thank Rob
Way too Long Grooming Report: A wise man jerk once said, do as I say, not as I do. At least half of our readership fell for it. Good intentions remind me of a parable of two sons. Fortunately Rob is the son that actually does the right thing. Check out the picture of his work at the power lines. Our thanks go out to any others that helped too. I should hasten to add, with the exception of several thin spots under hemlock trees, the entire trail to Co Rd 510 is well covered and there is little if any need for rock skis. Thanks to support of folks like Rob and others, Lori plans a final groom tonight for the “510 Club’s Saturday outing. I know I am the only one with a pesky Dumb-things-I-godda-do list so this advance warning will likely fall on four deaf ears. For me however, I am planning on getting two days worth of dumb-things-done in the next 24 hours.
Saux Head:
Several bare spots have developed so grooming has been suspended for the season unless the Mother’s day storm warrants it.
Big Bay Pathway:
Grooming has been suspended for the season unless the Mother’s day storm warrants it.
Fit Strip: Grooming has been suspended. Expect some bare spots.
Snow Bike Trails:
North Trails: I am very interested to see some pictures of the North trails. I expect most of the lower elevation is bare. However, I have no idea how it is near Forestville. There is a lot of snow in the woods. However, narrow hard pack trails often tend to become a crown of icy snow and impossible to ride. Please send a picture and any comments on related injuries.
South Trails: Grooming is done on the South trails for the season.
