SPRING SCHEDULE IN EFFECT: Trail Head is closed and the privy is locked. Practice save social distancing and enjoy the beautiful skiing.
| Forestville: As you both know, Andy went out with the Piston Bully last night. Cold daytime temperatures yesterday combined with very cold seasonal temperatures last night will leave us with fabulous skiing today. In addition, the six day forecast has sub freezing nights and cool high temperatures so you wont be putting your skis away for a while.

Way too Long Grooming Report: So after yesterday’s ski Bruce texted a question. Would he have to fix his delaminated boot right away. The answer was, yes, The Bully will be grooming for Friday skiing so you have to fix your boot in the next 18 hours. I sent this text as I was wrestling with my own equipment woes. The smart guys and gals changed to big baskets for yesterday’s ski. Not being in that group I was punching through quite a few times. On one such pole plant I was thrown off balance and snapped my pole 18” from the basket. Now, I’ve never even considered mending a broken carbon fiber pole. They are ridiculously expensive so you would think I would be all about fashioning a repair. Alas, it is the same think for fly rods; it will never be the same. Just forgive yourself and move on. Throw it out and do what you know you need to do anyway and buy a pair of poles. Its like when you break your phone; what’s the first thing you do? You drop whatever you were doing and go to the phone store; right? Not so easy with ski poles. I checked and they are not on the necessary items list. So, like poor Eugène Christophe in the 1913 Tour, I found myself in the garage cobbling together a repair because I am not going to miss the (second) last Bully groom of the season. Fortunately, I am never without West System resin and sheets of fiber glass. Now I have what has to be the worst looking ski pole on the Noque’. It looks like the kid’s dog with a broken tail or maybe like the first kid that taped his glasses together before it became, like, a thing. I know people will point and laugh but it will be worth it if this mess gets me back in the Co Rd 510 club.
Saux Head:
Tim groomed and set track Wednesday the 15th on the three loops and reported it was excellent.
The Wilson Creek section was not touched due to insufficient base conditions.
Big Bay Pathway:
No report at press time
Fit Strip: Grooming has been suspended. Expect some bare spots.
Snow Bike Trails:
North Trails: The Pines, Penstock, BLP Rocks, Collinsville to trail head loop was groomed again Wednesday afternoon. Ridable in low temperature for the next a few days.
South Trails: Grooming is done on the South trails for the season.
