Grooming March 1, 2021

Today’s report is brought to you by Bill and Rita Short.  Bill and Rita are  trail builders.  Their significant financial contribution helps NTN bring you Great skiing, biking, hiking and the silent sports world we have come to enjoy.  If you see them, please say thanks.  Grooming and grooming reports are brought to you for your skiing, biking and literary(?) enjoyment.  If you enjoy what we do, please consider a financial contribution to support the cause.

Forestville:  A fresh ‘Bully run on all trails!  Expect race ready conditions on 50k of beautiful trails.

Fit Strip:  The Fit Strip was groomed and track set the 27th.

Big Bay Pathway:    I expect the crew has been roll packing but no word by press time. Saux Head:  I expect the crew has been roll packing but no word by press time.

Snow Bike Trails:

NORTH TRAILS

Entire North Trail System (except BLP Rocks) groomed after dark on 2/28.

2” of fresh snow allowed smoothing out of the ruts that had developed and should have us entering March with great trail conditions.

Caution should still be exercised in the sun exposed areas as the ice may still exist just below the snow which could shear away resulting in loss of traction.

South Trails Grooming:  Everything on South was plowed after the snow and Rubin will be doing a bit more smoothing with the drag today.

Way Too Long Grooming Report

The great grooming report writer Thomas Fuller may have been the first to put this lion and lamb thing into print but it was never more true than today.  Looking back through the archives I did not come across a March 1st snow event report.  (I should add, I didn’t actually look and have an addled brain so not remembering is rather weak evidence.)  As for the whole Leo and Aries thing; I’m a pisces and we don’t believe in astrology.

See you out there,

Sondo
