Today’s report is brought to you by Tom and Vicki Asmus. Tome and Vicki are Trail Builders. Their significant financial contribution helps NTN bring you Great skiing, biking, hiking and the silent sports world we have come to enjoy. If you see them, please say thanks. Grooming and grooming reports are brought to you for your skiing, biking and literary(?) enjoyment. If you enjoy what we do, please consider a financial contribution to support the cause.
Forestville: Friday marked the end of our grooming season. Coverage remains good but bare spots are beginning to show. Look out under hemlock trees and in open areas. The FV Chalet will be closed after Sunday…unless of course we get a late season snowstorm…
We thank everyone for their membership support, daily donations, and sponsorships. Trails don’t happen without your support. Although snow base was minimal all season, our groomers provided many days of great trail conditions. We hope you enjoyed some wonderful ski, ride, run, or snowshoe days and if you did, please consider an end of winter donation to the trails. www.noquetrails.org/donate-2
Fit Strip: Continued vary warm temperatures the last few days have taken a toll on the base. Skiing may be over. Let us know if you have any first hand information.
Big Bay Pathway: Continued vary warm temperatures the last few days have taken a toll on the base. Skiing may be over. Let us know if you have any first hand information.
Saux Head: Continued vary warm temperatures the last few days have taken a toll on the base. Skiing may be over. Let us know if you have any first hand information.
Snow Bike Trails:
NORTH TRAILS
I am sure some areas have good snow coverage in higher elevations. Low areas are expected to be bare ground. Let us know what you find.
South Trails Grooming: I expect variable conditions similar to the comments above on the North Trails.

Way Too Long Grooming Report
To quote the great GRW Niels Bohr, “Prediction is very difficult, especially if it’s about the future.”. I slaved away over (synthetic) goat entrails and then over a double boiler for a carromancy confirmation of yesterday’s Goldie Lock zone time line. Then, on my way to test the hypothesis, one of the guild hall top brass suggested I was off for fun and games. I trust I needn’t remind either of you, this is an aerobic sport. If what you are doing is either fun or games you are doing it all wrong. That being said, gritty affairs kept me from testing the early book end of Goldie Locks. Getting skis on the snow at 11 I did fear missing the window all together. It was already tee shirt weather but the snow remained firm and fast. Ringing the bell at 510 just after noon the trails remained firm. Sunny spots were beginning to slow down. Back at the car it was after 1:30 and trails were still firm; even fast in the shade. If I had used my wax on skis instead of that prediction voodoo I expect they would have run just fine all day.
Today’s cold temperatures have set the trails hard so expect icy conditions all day. The remainder of the five day outlook calls for freezing over night and daytime highs in the 30s and 40s. Look for the Goldie Locks zone to begin an hour after temperatures climb above freezing. With the base fully transformed skiing should continue in the Goldie Locks zone all day. Except for the occasional bare spots that will appear, we should be skiing to 510 for several weeks. I trust skiers will still document trips to 510. We will post pictures of same as warranted.
With grooming curtailed, the grooming report will revert to its evil twin, the non-grooming report. Daily publication will end so you can throttle back your spam filter. When conditions warrant I will attempt to hack a password and publish.
See you out there,
Sondo
