Forestville: Another fresh ‘Bully run! Andy groomed to the 2nd gate past Co Rd 510 as well as Bagwagi, Chiwagi by pass and Animoosh.
Fit Strip: The fit strip lighted loop was groomed and tracked yesterday (1st at noon). The skiing is quite good overall. The north side hemlocks are still thin but the rest of the lighted loop is very nice.
Big Bay Pathway: The Big Bay Pathway was groomed on Monday March 1st. Nick and I rolled and tracked Meditation and Hidden Grin. The trails are in great shape.
The Big Bay Pathway is open for skiing for March 2021👍👍😎🇧🇻🇧🇻🇧🇻🇧🇻 Boe
Saux Head: John rolled the trail system yesterday and Tim I will groom and set track this morning (the 2nd.
Snow Bike Trails:
NORTH TRAILS
Entire North Trail System (except BLP Rocks) groomed after dark on 2/28.
2” of fresh snow allowed smoothing out of the ruts that had developed and should have us entering March with great trail conditions.
Caution should still be exercised in the sun exposed areas as the ice may still exist just below the snow which could shear away resulting in loss of traction.
South Trails Grooming: SBR was in fantastic shape last night. Super fast and grippy.
We will not be grooming unless it snows. Get it while you can as next weeks temps will not support a usable tread.
Way Too Long Grooming Report
I do hope you both got out on the 50k of race ready trails yesterday. Full sun, hard corduroy, fair temperatures must have been hard to beat. I did not get out. There was a day when a full ‘Bully run would cause me to alter all plans so as to allow skiing when there were such ideal conditions. Now that it is more common place I am spoiled. If one went skiing every time it was “race ready” you would leave a lot of the to-do list on the un-done list. I know I gave up lolling for lent so missing a day at all, much less with race conditions should not have been allowed given my penance. In my defense, what I was doing was not technically lolling. Anyway, I gave up sneezing for 20 days with sore ribs so giving up lolling for 20 days too is the same thing; isn’t it?
See you out there,
Sondo
