May 8, 2020 Not a Grooming Report
Trail Head is closed and the privy is locked. Practice save social distancing and enjoy the beautiful skiing.
Way Too Long Grooming Report: I remember the episode legendary grooming report writers Tom and Ray Magliozzi opened Car Talk with this pearl of wisdom: “A friend will help you move… A good friend will help you move a body.”. So, just like the proverbial reluctant son, I will show up for one of those dumb-things-I-godda-do items while you will both be out playing in the new snow. I expect to see some mother’s day pictures skiing in the new snow. I could dig through the archives but I think it was eight years ago the WTLGR ran a new snow Mother’s Day ski picture. I must add, take care with new snow as it hides snow snakes. That is one of the reasons spring is such a favored climbing season. The old snow bridges have all settled so crevasses are visible. There is a large ice field on Mt. Baker called the grid iron for the hundreds of parallel crevasses. New snow makes them hard to see (or easy to fall into if you are one of those glass-half-empty types). If either of you are bit by a snow snake today please send pictures; broken equipment pictures get extra credit.
(I wish I could) See you out there.
