Grooming March 5, 2020

Today’s report is brought to you by Jamieson Orthodontics:  Jamieson Orthodontics is a Black Diamond sponsor on the NTN trails.  Without the support of folks like Jamieson Orthodontics we would not have the excellent trails we have come to expect.  If you see them, say thanks.

Trail sponsorships are available.  Please visit www.noquetrails.org and follow the links.  You too can be feted in an up coming grooming report.

Saux Head:  All trails were groomed and tracked the 28th. Heavy snow expected today and tonight.

Big Bay Pathway:  Hidden Grin,  is groomed.   Heavy snow expected today and tonight.

North Trails comments:

Lyle reported before today’s snow that North Trail Conditions were currently highly variable.

The base had fully transformed into dense hard pack.

Heavily shaded areas continued with excellent tread.  More sun exposed areas will develop slush in the warmer afternoon hours.

Heavily sun exposed areas are starting to get thin coverage and areas of bare ground are showing.

Freeze thaw conditions present and trail surface icy in many spots.

Bridge conditions are being monitored closely and snow removal will be done if signs of an unstable base.
