Grooming Dec 30, 2020

New snow overnight has groomers out roll packing all trails.  Lower elevation areas received three inches and at dawn it was still snowing.

Forestville: Andy and team are rolling everything inside the bridge at 17k and then plan to Ginzu with track setter.  Trails will be soft today and don’t look for classic tracks before late morning at the earliest.

Saux Head: Trails will be rolled this morning.  Tracks will be set as soon as possible but that may be tomorrow.

Snow Bike Trails: This new snow is likely enough to indicate snowmobile grooming on the south trails.  I expect the snow dog will be out on the north trails.

WTLGR: Look at the six day forecast.  What a great thing! Highs in the upper 20s and lows in the teens.  The lake effect snow machine is doing its job and groomers are out in force.  Yesterday’s ski was great and everything but 6f gets your attention.  In case you didn’t get out yesterday, that beer you set out to chill…  There are some sports where there isn’t even such thing as a misery factor! Fortunately (for me anyway) I nailed the clothes.  And, for those of you on the “good” side of the curve,  if you exchange your Christmas gifts on Twelfth Night, you can’t have too many pairs of wind stopper briefs.  Anyway, I had a wonderful few hours at Saux Head.   Trails were a bit thin but I never hit bottom.

See you out there,

Sondo
