Grooming December 14, 2021

Forestville Trails:

The Trail head is now open and staffed!

No grooming last night.  Light traffic yesterday means trails are still in good shape.

Both of you know this but it bears repeating in case a stranger picks up this report.  This little thaw is not harming our base.  Sure, freeze/thaw skiing is less than ideal but December sun is never very high and each night the temperatures have fallen below freezing.  We may have one, or, at most, two overnight thaws before we return to seasonal temperatures.  With snow forecast late in the week even a dusting and we will be back to race ready conditions.

Saux Head Trails:  Tim packed the heavy snow over the weekend but no classic tracks.

Fit Strip:  Neil did roll pack Sunday.  Trails are well covered but still thin in spots.

Snow Bike “North Trails”  Roxin groomed Saturday night:

the Pines, Penstock, Blue Heron, Silverlead, Sandbox, Collinsville.

Freeze/thaw conditions will have trails a bit slick in the morning and soft in the afternoon.  Please avoid “pizza cutting” the trails once they soften up.

Snow Bike “South Trails”   The main trails were groomed Sunday.  Send pictures and comments if you get out.

See you out there,

Sondo
